A Wolf is a human who has been genetically-modified by the Lifeweavers, possessing superhuman senses and endurance.
The Wolves are part of the best fighting force left in the USA, the Hunters. Of the different types of hunters - Cat, Bear, etc. - the Wolves are the largest of the groups and are the closest to the regular forces, in the sense that they garrison the border regions alongside them, as opposed to others who are essentially special forces.
